Douglas Development is the longest running affordable housing tax credit development company in South Carolina. David Douglas Sr. built his first tax credit financed apartment community in 1992 named Raintree Apartments in Greenville, South Carolina. The property has been rehabilitated since its first construction and Douglas Development still owns and manages the property to this day. Building on its expertise in South Carolina, Douglas Development has since expanded its tax credit development operations to four other states: North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Maryland.
